APPRECIATION

I used to chew on these and even eat the paper which wraps the candy.:P

"When I was a kid, I didn't have a laptop, iPod, Blackberry, PS3 or iPad. I played outside with friends, bruised my knees, made up adventurous fantasies and played hide and seek. I ate what my mom made; Jollibee was a treat. I would think twice before I said "no" to my parents. Life wasn't hard, it was great and I survived. Kids these days are spoiled. Re-post this if you appreciate the way you were raised. I think we were happier kids! Kids these days lost something - APPRECIATION"

-Well, This was one of my recent status in FACEBOOK which I see, is true. When I was a kid, I didn't have those fancy tech stuff such as cellphones, MP3 players, heck, I don't even own a Desktop PC back then. I only had our old TV set which is now scrapped in the storage room, my old friends who I used to play with every afternoon, snacks which you could buy for a few cents or a peso, and the dream of becoming a race car driver when I grow up.

How the times have changed each and every one of us.

Before, whenever we eat at Jollibee or at McDonalds at Dau or at San Fernando, it would either be a birthday party, or it would be my mom or dad's pay day. Eating at these fast food chains was already a BIG TREAT as the quote would say. Not like today that these FF chains are just like cafeterias where you could eat there everyday. But I tell you, nothing beats what your mom or dad would cook for you.

Life was indeed very simple back then. You don't even need a cellphone to call your friends. You can go visit their homes anytime you want as long as they're not busy. You don't need fancy computers just to have fun. All you need are good friends who'll either run after you to tag you, look for you when they're IT, and throw a ball made of paper and scotch tape to tag you out in the game.

Fancy toys and clothes were also a good part of our young lives. Admit it, when you were young, once that your mom or dad brings home a new toy or a new set of clothes for you, you'd go out and meet your friends and boast about your new toy, new pair of shoes or even a new shirt with your favorite character as a print. After that, you would be like the new "talk of the town" or "Ikaw ang BIDA." Hell, I admit, I've been a kid too, and I know how it feels to be the coolest kid among my friends.

Now, if you don't have the Clothes / Tech / Money. You're technically not "IN" and you'd just go away and rot by yourself in a corner.

A lot of people, not only kids, have lost what you call APPRECIATION which means the recognition of something that's important, something that should be valued.

I won't lie to you, and I won't make a fool of myself saying that I haven't lost my APPRECIATION for certain things.. Goodness, no. A lot of times I forget to appreciate the simple things that I see, hear, and feel in my everyday life. I get frustrated whenever I can't get the things that I want, easily forgetting what I already have. I always forget that HE has already given me a lot of things that I should appreciate, that I should value, THAT I SHOULD CARE FOR..

I was inspired by a blogpost that I've read a few hours ago. It was indeed a good post, that 15 minutes of my time was not wasted while I read it. I was really amazed on how the writer appreciated the way things were back when he was young. Try reading it.. I tell you, it's worth it.

It's already 4 in the morning, I'm running out of words to tell. So to end this LOOONG blogpost, I leave you with a quote  plus the link to the blogpost I've read earlier.

"APPRECIATE THE SMALL THINGS IN LIFE"

Custom painted Master Grade XXXG-01D2 Gundam Deathscythe Hell Custom

when I was a kid, i used to watch a certain anime show at a local TV channel here in the Philippines. I really made it a point to go home early just to watch that show, and my parents can't even force me to change the channel (unless with brute force).
That show is about 5 teenagers who had their own amazing mecha units from the space colonies who came down to Earth to accomplish one mission: OPERATION METEOR which is to eliminate the injustice between the Earth Sphere and the Colonies.
Yes you got it right, it's Gundam Wing (90's kids rock!!!! >_<)

Back when I was a kid also, they released model kits which were oh-so-expensive that my mom and dad can't afford them, I used to envy my cousins or "insans" who had the money to buy these kits.. Therefore, I made it a goal that when I grow up and have the money to buy these kits, I'll buy them, and I'll buy them GOOD.. :)

13 years have passed, BanDai released a Master Grade scale of the Gundam Unit that I really adored. I've been waiting 13  effing years just to get one, and I got one heck of a surprise.

Here it goes, the GUNDAM DEATHSCYTHE HELL CUSTOM

I was oh-so-effing excited when I got this kit from our friendly Gundam Merchant sir Coldfire, like while I was still on the bus on my way home, I was rummaging through the instruction manual on how to build it.Plus, I got it for a very "sulit" price, so, DOUBLE HAPPINESS. XD

Here are some of the photos when I built the unit. :)

As you would notice, the color of the kit is sort of glossy, and somehow, differs from what is seen in the OVA, Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. So I asked a few friends about what things to do to this guy to make it look even meaner, nastier.. (nuff said.) :3 and one of them told me to change the color scheme to it's original colors, which is flat black and gray, which was a really good idea. :)

So after painting this kit for like 4 days or so, plus placement of the free dry transfer decals.
VOILA!

building this kit is one fulfillment for me. aside from it's price-worthiness, It was really a fun kit to build. and it is really good to look at when it's standing there on the shelf where it's displayed. looking at one of your childhood heroes, or mechs really brings back memories... :)

well, that's all for now.. Thank you for viewing! CIAO!! :)

BOARD EXAM RESULTS...

What a way to start this blog.. :P

Last night, I received a text message from a friend which was also our class president when I was in my 4th year college class. The message was about the release of the July 2011 Nursing Board Exams here in the Philippines. Now, it was said before that the release of the exam results will be on September, which is like, 2 months after the board exams were taken.. That rumor was spread around a few days after the July Board Exams were taken.. Now back to the text message.. The message from our class president, Kuya Raymond contained information that the exam results will be sent out to the public on August 20 or 21, 2011. Good enough, the long wait for the results has come to a stop, though, a shocking stop.. :)

After the board exams, I've been doing nothing except stay at home and be a "TAMBAY" or a BUM, well, occasionally, I help my dad with his work which is supplying quail eggs to some markets here in Pampanga, which in turn, my dad pays me quite a generous amount, (almost all of my salary went to my hobby, which is GunPla or Gundam Plastic kits.. and some credits for my cellphone..) but, the thing that I've been spending most of my time on is THINKING OF WHAT MY FUTURE WILL BE. Will the 4 years of my college life as a nursing student go to waste, or will I become a RN (Registered Nurse)?

Before I even received that message, as the days pass by, I was starting to get anxious for what might the results be. Waiting, while "playing" with my model kits is all I could do until the day that the results show up.

Now this news from my friend restarted the anxiety that was boiling up within me.. I can't even fall asleep as I wait for the sun to rise just to get a glimpse at a newspaper in the local newspaper sellers... I keep on checking the Professional Regulations Commission website just to see that the results are not even yet posted.. Misery... at it's finest.. brought to you by yours truly. :P

now all my friends who know this just kept telling me to have faith... that I will pass. I simply thanked them and said: I did my part, Dadi GOD will take care of the rest.

now as I close this blogpost.. I leave you with a status post from my facebook account:
