Hobbifest 2013

Last May 4, 2013, KGMAC or Kapampangan Gundam, Mecha, Arts and Crafts Community was once again, able to show Pampanga how they spread the PlaMo (Plastic Model) Love by doing the toy displays of the recently concluded Hobbyfest 2013 which was spearheaded by the Hobbiworx Tagcom Team.
Lol, improvements! from a posterceptioned bondpaper banner into a regular tarp
This is actually the 2nd year that KGMAC has done the toy displays for Hobbyfest 2012. first one was last May 12, 2012 (our second major toy display event) which was done at the same venue, Robinson's Starmills, Pampanga.

"Miss, are these things for sale?" :))
The event started around 10am and ended around 7pm on that day. There were toys (courtesy of KGMAC..) and tenants who sold a lot of stuff, ranging from Japanese goodies, hats, (I was tempted to buy that Iron Man bonnet... but my wallet was almost dead.) action figures and cosplay accessories.
There were also a lot of sellers... I got myself a 1997 HW Lamborghini Countach and a Gashapon Rei Ayanami.. >_<
Of course, hobbifest won't be complete without cosplay. :) I enjoyed watching the cosplay catwalk and some cosplayers scurrying around the event area. Unluckily enough, I wasn't able to have my photo taken with some of the characters that I like (boooooo.). But still, seeing someone who has portrayed one of the characters that you like is already enough.
CelebSeven and... Tutturuuuuuuuuu!!!!! >_< now where's Shiningu Fingaa? :P
This li'l fella justified and gave a whole new meaning to the saying "Small but Terrible". Meet chibi LuBu
Overall, the event was a success. A lot of people, I think, enjoyed watching the cosplay catwalk, purchased the goods at the shops, (that "iyak-tawa" feel whenever you purchased something good, but it leaves a gaping hole in your pocket/wallet, or just simply, that feel whenever you want to buy something but you don't have enough money for it.) and just by taking photos of the toy displays.

As for KGMAC, it is indeed, another milestone added to it's history. Who would've guessed that that small group of hobbyists who usually hang out at the mall's foodcourts, would end up displaying for such a big event. As one of the founders of the group, it has made me happy, seeing how much the group has grown. It makes me so proud... *sniff*

And thus here are some of the photos (courtesy of Mr. Paolo Bañaga, Mr Joe Arvin Faustino and Mr. Billson Garcia)

We had a blast, and once again, the group would like to thank the Hobbiworx Tagcom team for giving us the opportunity to show our stuff, and to those who went to the event, I do hope you liked our toy display. :)

Well, that's it for now, Be sure to like our facebook page which is Kapampangan Gundam Mecha Arts and Crafts Community and if ever you want to join us, just give us a message on that page. :)

Ending the year with a BANG! | TACCCON 2012

"Hopefully, this will be the start of the era of REAL hobby conventions here in Pampanga"

-Kevin Timbol, Head Organizer, PROJECT TAC

A THANK YOU NOTE FROM TEAM TAC
Those were the words that were given to me by my good friend and fellow hobbyist, Kevin as we talked about the events that transpired within the three days (December 28, 29, and 30) of the Toys, Anime, Cosplay and Comic Convention (known as TACCCon) at SM City Clark, Angeles City.

ERMAHGERD, is that Lacus Clyne singing on stage? O.O
During those three days, Pampanga was given a chance to show what it has, either be toy collections, musical skills, creativity in arts and crafts, and I assure you we (for I am also one of the people who helped out with the event, along with the KGMAC family) delivered and even added an extra serving to the "mix". :D

THE DISPLAY AREA
My group, the Kapampangan Gundam, Mecha, Arts and Crafts Community (KGMAC) along with Tokusatsu Pinoy Collectors (TPC) and some individual hobbyists went all out from the start till the end of the event proper. There were gunplas (may it be straight, OOTB or out-of-the-box builds and them custom works -will feature some of them sometime-), Transformers action figures, Tokusatsu figures and memorabilia and anime figures displayed in tables and glass cabinets for three days set as "eye candies" for the con-goers.
KGMAC's flag. :)))

I really think that we made all of them kids plus those "kids-at-heart" happy on those dates since a lot of people gathered round at the display areas while taking pictures of the displays and themselves with the displays at their sides. Plus, we had the opportunity to meet new people who were also interested or  "in" to the hobby. TACCCon was indeed another "milestone" added to the HOBBYIST/COLLECTOR community here in Pampanga. :D

Here are some of the photos:

TACCCon was surely, one of the greatest hobby conventions held here in Pampanga. And it was one great opportunity for us to showcase what we have, and meet other collectors who are also from the same region. I, for one, am happy to see that the Hobbyist/Collector community in Pampanga is growing at a steady pace and having events such as TACCCon helps us in encouraging/motivating people who want to start in the hobby and meet other collectors as well.

Being a part of this project has been fun. Even though the team had its shares of ups and downs, we still pushed on... Pushed on to do what were set to do which is to "SPREAD THE PlaMo LOVE".

In behalf of all the KGMAC members who participated that day, I would like to say THANK YOU to TEAM T.A.C. for giving us this opportunity and we will NEVER EVER FORGET that the KGMAC family, have been a part of TACCCon 2012.
